The sample holder has a sensor fixture and a sample clamping mechanism. The sensor fixture is specially designed for the (plastic and aluminum) housings of our Kapton- or Teflon-insulated Hot Disk® and Hot Strip sensors with cables. An adaptor is included so that the sensor fixture can also handle our sensor interfaces. On special request, however, we can supply a simplified sensor fixture that handles sensors with cables that uses heat-shrink tubing instead of housings to protect the sensor to cable connection. The sample clamping mechanism consists of a rigid U bracket with a knurled thumb screw (or Allen screw on request). For quick and easy sample mounting the base plate is made adjustable in height.
The sample holder comes in two versions of different size, where the standard version (option 1) is designed for use with small to medium-sized samples and our standard sensors, while the larger version (option 2) is specially made for use with larger-sized samples and our sensors with extended leads. Moreover, to accommodate that the length of our sensors also varies somewhat with the size of the sensing area, there are three selectable positions for the knurled thumb screw on the U bracket, which can be used to better align the clamping point to the center of the sensor’s sensing area.
The sample holder is made of stainless steel, apart from the rubber feet. It can be used at elevated temperatures, up to 600°C, if the rubber feet are dismounted or replaced by stainless steel feet that we can supply on request.
