Cp Cell Liquids Pastes and Gels

This Hot Cell® sensor has a small cell volume and is intended for testing liquids, gels, and pastes. The cell is made of 18K gold and has the shape of a flat cylinder, with a width of 19 mm and height of 4.5 mm. The gold enables easy cleaning and handling of acidic or corrosive specimens.

This Hot Cell® sensor comes with a high temperature foam insulation and two cable options – a standard grey-colored polymer-clad cable for use between -20°C to 50°C, and a red-colored silicone-clad cable for use between -60°C to 180°C. For the latter option, our grey-colored adaptor cable is needed for connection to our Hot Disk® instruments (or our sensor switch units) and is offered separately.

Testing Cp of cylindrical cells

These three Hot Cell® sensors are primarily intended for testing cylindrical batteries. They have cell volumes that are matched to standardized cylindrical battery geometries. The cells are made of aluminium and have the shape of a tall cylinder. The three cell sizes have a width and height of 15 mm and 70 mm; 30 mm and 75 mm; and 50 mm and 85 mm, respectively. To improve the thermal contact of the cylindrical battery to the aluminium cell, we recommend the use of silicone oil.

Testing Cp of medium-size pouch cells

These three Hot Cell® sensors are primarily intended for testing flat batteries, with focus on medium-size pouch batteries. The cells are made of aluminium and have the shape of a flat square box with rounded edges. The three cell sizes have a width and height of 80 mm and 12 mm; 160 mm and 16 mm; and 240 mm and 20 mm, respectively. Due to the rounded edges of the cells, the maximum pouch battery size will depend on if the pouch battery is square-shaped or rectangular-shaped.

Hot Cell® Sensor

Testing Cp of large-size pouch cells and prismatic cells

These Hot Cell® sensors are primarily intended for testing flat batteries, with focus on large-size pouch batteries and prismatic batteries. The cells are made of aluminium and have the shape of a flat square or rectangular box with rounded edges. The cell sizes are customized with a maximum width, length, and height of respectively 400 mm, 400 mm, and 100 mm. Hot Disk can arrange cells with even greater width and length upon special request. Due to the rounded edges of the cells, the maximum pouch battery size will depend on if the pouch battery is square-shaped or rectangular-shaped.
