Hot Disk® Instruments is proud to introduce our new Pressurized Liquid Cell, a temperature- and pressure-controlled unit developed by Hot Disk® Instruments for thermal transport measurements of liquid samples at temperatures up to 400°C and pressures up to 250 Bar. The system is designed to handle measurements of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and rocket fuel. As these samples can be flammable and explosive hydrocarbons, careful safety measures have been incorporated into the system’s construction.
The system combines a benchtop horizontal split tube furnace for temperature control with a floor-standing liquid pressure control unit. The furnace provides temperature stability better than ±0.5°C, while the pressure control unit provides pressure stability of ±1.0 Bar. The stainless-steel liquid cell has a volume of 1.1 ml and is designed for use with our Kapton-insulated Hot Disk® sensor models 7577Q and 5465Q.
Both temperature and pressure can be controlled via the Hot Disk® Desktop App. The software can be programmed to automatically perform a series of measurements with the Hot Disk instrument at multiple liquid temperatures and pressures.
