In the rapidly growing field of Specific Heat Capacity (Cp) testing, Hot Disk Instruments is proud to announce a significant leap forward with our in-house-invented and -developed Hot Cell® sensors. These innovative sensors are designed to redefine precision in Cp measurement. They cater to a wide range of materials and components, with a keen focus on common battery geometries.
The Hot Cell® sensor features a meticulously designed thin metal container with a matching lid. At the base of this container, a TPS element is permanently affixed. This design ensures that the lid can be securely closed without interference from the sample or component being tested, providing an undisturbed environment for accurate measurements. To augment the sensor’s efficiency, the metal container is encased in low-density foam insulation, a critical component of the sensor’s configuration.
Understanding the diverse needs of our clientele, we offer Hot Cell® sensors in a variety of market-relevant shapes and sizes. This range ensures compatibility with different types of materials and components, focusing primarily on accommodating the geometries of common batteries. However, recognizing the evolving nature of battery technology and the advent of uncommon or novel battery geometries, we also provide customized solutions. Such tailormade Hot Cell® sensors are crafted to meet specific, individual requirements, ensuring that no component under current development is beyond the scope of our precise Cp testing.
Our Hot Cell® sensors enable the testing of Cp over an impressive ambient temperature range, from -60°C to 180°C. This capability ensures versatility in testing conditions, easily covering the complete temperature range relevant for batteries.
Hot Disk Instruments remains at the forefront of innovation in the analysis of thermophysical properties. With the introduction of our Hot Cell® sensors, we continue to provide our clients with cutting-edge tools necessary for advancing their research and development in materials science. Embrace the future of Specific Heat Capacity testing with Hot Disk Instruments, where precision meets innovation at the peak of performance.
