Hot Disk Low to High Temperature Chamber Front

This floor-standing TCU uses a two-stage refrigeration system with R404A and R23 refrigerants for cooling, and a fan with a heating element around it for heating. It comes with a box-shaped temperature chamber with a volume of 50 liters.

The chamber has a chemically resistant stainless steel lining, accessed from the front side via a left-hinged lever latch door that is lockable. The sensor cable feedthrough is selectable either on the left side or the right side of the chamber via small circular wall openings having removeable rubber plug covers. The TCU is equipped with wheels, allowing for easy mobility in the laboratory. The temperature range of the chamber is impressive, down to -60°C, and up to 300°C. The temperature stability in turn is better than ±0.1°C at lower temperatures and better than ±0.5°C at higher temperatures.

The low-to-high temperature chamber is primarily intended to be used with our bare Kapton-insulated Hot Disk® or Hot Strip® sensors mounted in our sensor interface for high-temperature accessories, in combination with dedicated high-temperature sample holders.

The TCU is automatically controlled via the Hot Disk Desktop App over RS232 communication. The Hot Disk Desktop App can be programmed to automatically perform a series of measurements with the Hot Disk instrument at multiple chamber temperatures.

Continuous-Flow Cryostat
-195°C (78 K) to Room Temperature

This floor-standing cryostat uses a continuous flow of liquid nitrogen from a storage dewar for cooling, and a resistive wire element for heating. The system consists of four separated parts: a cylindrically shaped vacuum chamber, with a liquid nitrogen vessel on top, both integrated into a floor-stand; a temperature control unit; a turbomolecular pump; and a self-pressurized dewar.

Bath Circulator Bath with Sample Holder
Bath Circulator
-40°C to 200°C

This floor-standing bath circulator uses a refrigeration system with EU-approved, Propene (A45) coolant medium for cooling, and an electrical heating element for heating. The bath circulator has a corrosion-resistant stainless steel reservoir of 12 liters for the bath volume. The box-shaped working area of this temperature vessel is 6 liters.

PT100 Temperature Sensor
-80°C to 260°C

The PT100 temperature sensor is used optionally for registering the ambient temperature close to the sample and prior to a measurement with the Hot Disk® instrument. It is especially useful when using a TCU as the sample temperature might differ from that registered by the integrated TCU thermometer. Note that this PT100 temperature sensor is not used for automatic temperature control of our TCU units.
